FREE LESSON – 2, Rhythmic patterns – 1st degree

- 13.02.2026

What’s in the lesson

In this free lesson you will learn how to start improvising using simple but powerful rhythmic patterns based on the 1st degree of the minor pentatonic scale.

The lesson is designed as a real practice session:

I play a short phrase first — and then you repeat it after me step by step, together with a backing track.

This format helps you instantly develop timing, groove, articulation and confidence.

🎶 Pentatonic scales used in this lesson:

  • A minor pentatonic (for Alto Saxophone)
  • D minor pentatonic (for Tenor Saxophone)

You will practice:

  • Rhythmic patterns for pentatonic improvisation
  • Phrasing and repetition technique (call & response)
  • Playing with a backing track like a real musician
  • Building musical ideas starting from one note

Perfect for beginners and intermediate saxophonists who want to improve improvisation without complicated theory.
